Stop And Smell The Roses

Hello, hello!

I can't believe the last time I posted was many months ago. What a slacker I am! The life on this side of the screen has been pretty hectic—I will not waste your time with that :) But I will be sharing some of my exciting projects that I've been working on for the last few months. That would be my next post.

The lesson for today and yes, you already know this one is to not forget to Stop and Smell the Roses!
It's so easy to forget. I did it this weekend and it felt great. Now it's your turn.

Goodbye Xan!

Today we said goodbye to our sweet Xan.

He was sick for a very long time and whatever he had gradually took him away from us. Nothing seemed to work, and I when I say nothing—I mean we have tried so many medical options.

We miss him very much and it has been torturous to put his things away.

Xan thank you for so many great memories! See you one day buddy.

iPhone Snippets: Summer Vacation

Hello hello! I hope everyone is enjoying the summer.

Just a few days ago we came back from the needed vacation. Above are some snippets from our trip. We had so much fun at the pool and the beach. The kiddos ate tons of ice cream and played soccer at the beach in addition to swimming and swimming. I explored "someone's" backyard, taking photos of lighthouses, birdhouses, and flowers with my in-laws :) And finally I finished a book that was taking me a long long while to read. I welcome any recommendations for my next reading.

Have a great Sunday!

Breakfast with Santa

On Saturday morning, Daniil, Dad and I went to Callanwolde Fine Arts Center to meet Santa for breakfast and tour this gorgeous house.

Daniil had so much fun singing Christmas songs. I was so sure that he would shy away from all of the festivity but he proved me wrong :)

What a beautiful house! All of the rooms are decorated differently. I was especially drawn to a room with the typewriter, enchanted wreath, and purple pops of color.

Since every room has many restrictions of what not to touch, exploring the house with a 5 years old boy became a bit hard. But I am sure you get an idea of how fabulously decorated is Callanwolde Fine Arts Center during this time of the year.

This event pretty much sums up my low key weekend.

How was your weekend? What did you do?

A weekend with Instagram :)

Hello Hello!

How was your weekend?

As always, we had a pretty busy weekend. Here is what went down over here this weekend + 100 more things:

- A visit to my parents' house, where I got to hang out with Mr. Baron (English Springer Spaniel) and Bagira (my rescue cat).
- The chalk wall is open, and Daniil is working hard!
- A gorgeous evening in the neighborhood. I think I take way too many photos of sunsets and sunrises.
- Daniil and I went to the Estate sale, and he got a derby car, which now chills on our mantle.
- Saturday's snack was "Gummy Bears".
- Lastly, my recipe cards and boxes are 99% done, which means they will be available at the store on Friday!

Savannah Adventures: Part III

That evening, Daniil, mom and I toured downtown Savannah. We ended up going down to River Street. We walked along the river, listened to Daniil's remarkable comments, and window shopped which was great because we avoided many broken items {Daniil is a 4 year old}.

The next morning, we met with Todd's family at B. Matthew's which is a wonderful place for a breakfast and brunch. Daniil said that he was not hungry but five minutes did not go by, and he was demanding a waffle "with a LOT of syrup" he emphasized! Not to mention that he had his first waffle about an hour ago.

So to summarize our vacation, it was wonderful!
Good times :)

Savannah Adventures: Part II

As we were getting deeper into the park, we saw tons of people mostly teenage girls. I was curious what was going on since the big festival was suppose to take place next weekend, St. Patrick's Day. After I saw the banner that said "Girl Scouts celebrated 100 years!", it was obvious to me why at the hotel during our breakfast we were accompanied by hundreds of Girl Scouts.

Meeting my husband's family was great as always. Daniil got to play with Hill, Todd's newphew, as we set in the shade chatting, people watching, and enjoying the concert happening near by.

Unfortunately, all the pictures I took at the playground turned out blurry. Why do you ask? The answer is Daniil loves to run around. Even when he was little, he enjoyed hiking/running with me and he was not so interested in a playground.

The time flew by. "Well, it's time to head back to the hotel" I said. Daniil was exceptionally fine with that. I think walking, running, and playing did it for him.

On our way back, Daniil once again played on every bench. This time he was really selective about his benches. He decided to exclude me from the bench scouting process. That did not upset me because I got to window shop and take pictures of beautiful architecture and trees covered in moss.

After meandering through the charming streets of Savannah and hearing over and over "THIS IS SOOO AMAZING!", "Are we in Savannah?", "Savannah is AWESOOOME" from Daniil, we finally made it to our hotel room.

What happened later that evening is another story! Savannah Adventures part 3 will complete the sequel shortly.

Have you had any adventures lately? I would love to hear :)

Savannah Adventures: Part I

The day began at 6:30. Daniil was up and ready to go. "I am hungry, I want a waffle and a lot of syrup, I want to go to a playground, I want to see Savannah!" he kept saying over and over. This was my first time traveling with him by myself {we came with my mom but she was working all day}. After a hearty breakfast and careful packing of my tote bag with all the necessities for a long day, we were finally outside. The weather was gorgeous. We only walked for a couple of minutes when Daniil saw a store vitrine full of cars. A few minutes later, he was a happy owner of a red fire dept. car. During our more than 1 mile walk, his new car touched every bench that we passed by. While he was busy playing, I was taking photos left and right. I don't think I can ever get enough of Savannah's historic architecture!

We were having so much fun that the time and distance did not matter, and luckily we had plenty of time to get to Forsyth park for Daniil's play date with his cousin. I was really excited to see my husband's family.

To be continued ...

I hope everyone is enjoying this spring weather!
