In the studio: iPhone Snippets

What has been going on lately?! A lot of watercolor painting, which is my favorite medium—I am working on gouache right now. A few month back, I got a request from a bride wanting to paint her entire wedding stationery. I am always up for that. So here are few snippets of her wedding illustrations.

I will be sharing photos of the finished product in a few months. I can hardly wait!

In the studio: 2013 Food Trucks Calendar

Couple months later, the 2013 Food Trucks Calendar is illustrated and being printed as I type this blog post. It was definitely a fun project to illustrate 12 food trucks. Just look at their graphics!!!!

Thank you to my husband and my son. They were really supportive while I painted away and tried to meet a crazy deadline so the calendar would be printed by November. It was not easy but I am happy to say that I will be able to hold calendars in my hands on October 27th. Pre order is available at my Etsy shop and the calendar will ship in 1-2 weeks.

Big thank you goes out to all Food Trucks that participated. You guys rock!!!

WOW! / Mighty Meatballs / Honeysuckle Gelato / The Fry Guy / Mac The Cheese / The Pickle / Munch / Sweet Auburn Barbecue / Gezzo's  / ThePup Truck / The Mobile Marlay / Beantown Barbecue

Here is a preview of the calendar.

I was asked by my son which food truck illustration I like the most.... hmmm that was a hard question which is yet to be answered :) Which food truck illustration do you like?

Have an amazing weekend!

PS don't forget to get a calendar :)

Watercolor illustration {Vintage Car}

So as I mentioned a while back I am enjoying living in Atlanta especially in our cute neighborhood where every house is uniquely different. The great thing about this neighborhood is I find inspiration as soon as I step out from my front door.
There it was Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce {what a mouth full}. It was an amazing model because for 3 months it did not move once.

I did picture myself driving in it with its top down... But that vanished fast after I remembered the existence of a giant kid's car seat. Well, when my kid(s) grow up I will definitely entertain this idea :)

I think I would like to use this opportunity to say "I love vintage things."
What is your favorite vintage item?

Watercolor illustration {Elephant}

I was particularly excited about this weekend because I was meeting my good college friend Kate who now lives in North Dakota. Kate has never met my son Daniil and I have never met her daughter Ava so we were looking forward to catching up on many things. I've learned that Ava likes elephants so I wanted to suprise her with an illustration of one, please keep in mind its for a precious little girl. So here is a sneak peek.

But unfortunately Sunday came around with Daniil's 104 fever. I only hope that he can feel better soon! I miss him stomping and running around in the house, singing and dancing, and playing with his cars.

How was your weekend?

Watercolor portraits

Hi everyone,

I have recently been commissioned to do a watercolor portrait of someone special. Meet Bentley! The most lovable dog with so much fur that at times I wonder what is left of the dog?
Mr. Bentley

In addition, I had a privilege to paint his relative Mr. Murphy a much calmer and wiser dog.

When I met my now husband, I also met Xan a scary looking pitbull {at that time I thought that was going to be a deal breaker} but little did I know this dog turned out to be so sweet & loyal.

Xan "the international" dog

So I just presented to you my next model :) Any other models are welcome.

I would like to get him a little buddy and I mean little. Any suggestions on a small dog breed?
