My engagement

I am married! and I am only over a year behind to share my engagement story with you.

It happened on July 3, 2010... We have planned a 3 day trip to North Georgia Mountains and we were really excited to get away.

We have dated for 6 months and I knew that this day would be coming soon based on our conversations.

July 2nd. The rented house was amazing {I miss it a lot}! The view was to die for, the first day I got up at 6 am to take pictures of the sunrise. It was so unbelievably beautiful that I got up early the next day this time to paint it.

I love flowers & plants

During our stay we have planned to go to a vineyard, check out waterfalls and hike to the highest point in GA known as Brasstown Bald.

Brasstown Bald
July 3rd. The big day! The day was going slowly but I guess it defines the meaning of vacation. About lunch time, I remember Todd saying "Don't eat too much, just have a snack..." - but it's lunch time! As we were getting ready to go the vineyard, I have noticed that he was taking a while to get ready. He looked great! It made me wonder if I should change what I was wearing but he made me feel at ease by saying "You look beautiful." During our drive to the vineyard, I sensed his nervousness but I was in denial of what was about to happen.

When we arrived at the Crane Creek Vineyards, it was breathtaking.  I was looking around and taking tons of pictures that I did not realize that Todd & I were being escorted by one of the workers with a giant tray of appetizers and glasses of wine to a pond where a wooden table awaited.

After some small talk, at this point I knew what was about to happen. He switched sides with me and then he started saying all of the nicest things-I can't remember exactly what he said. He nervousness was contagious that it got to me and I was mumbling some nonsense. The question was asked and the answer followed -YES!

I remember trying to call my parents and my sister to tell them the big news but unfortunately my phone had no connection.

The next day we went to the High Shoals Falls. It was an adventure since at the beginning we ended up getting lost and our hike added some time. But at the end of it we got some really cool photos.

The vacation was memorable and from that moment the wedding planning began.

How was your special moment? Do you remember all the little details of that day?

Have a great weekend!

  1. SO beautiful! And 6 months - when you know, you know!!!! I picked out my ring @ 6 months but Dave waited till just before our 1 year :) It was a private at home moment.. i thought he would do something, but he surprised me by "not" doing something.. he proposed to me on both of his knees while I was laying on his bed (ahem - air mattress!). His smile was most memorable - darn cute!
