1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where you are from. Your education, culture and goals.
My name is Tippmas Srisilpanundana. A pretty difficult name, I know :) so please call me Bamee {it's my nickname}. I am an illustrator and a graphic designer. I like to collect and read storybooks.
I was born and raised in a small town near Bangkok, Thailand. I remember when my father bought me some colored pencils and drawing paper. I think then is when I started drawing, which has been my passion ever since.
I studied Art at Silpakorn University in Bangkok in 1998. I’ve been a commercial artist from 2002 until present. I work on children's storybooks, pocketbooks, booklets, and posters. Among other things, I do illustrations for many family magazines.
Two years ago when I started as a freelance illustrator, I painted some picture books which were later sold in Thailand. Also,last year I received a prize of my life :) - Rukluke Award 2011 (picture book for children ages 0-3 years).

2. Who are your favorite artists, designers, or fashion icons that have influenced your creative style or who you admire?
I love illustration and children picture books. I also love vintage children's books by Mary Blair. I can call her my hero.
3. Where do you normally find your inspiration?
Before I begin any project I always go outside for a walk. I enjoy watching interaction between people. How people are walking on the street, and how they are dressed.
To give you an idea of how I create my illustrations, I don't copy something from a magazine or a photo - I observe an item or a person and with my style illustrate what I truly see. This is how my brain works.
4. What was your favorite project? Describe it.
My favorite project(s)was and still is to paint custom illustrations for my customers on Etsy. I really try to add my take and make people smile when they see their illustration. The greatest thing of all is to be getting sweet messages from my customers saying how much they love their illustrations. It makes me feel so happy! and it truly makes this to be the best job :).

5. What is your dream project? Describe it.
Since I won the Rukluke Award 2011, I have been working on some picture books for children. I think my "dream" is to make sure my illustrations are loved by children.
6. What is your favorite fashion possession of the moment?
I love casual style. T-shirt and short skirt or jeans will do for me. But then again I love vintage look.
7. If someone was going to visit your city, what one place would you recommend them to see?
I would advise using a guidebook since it has way too many cool places. But I do recommend visiting our old fresh market where you can truly get a feel for our culture.
